We are very pleased to congratulate Maidstone and the Weald MP, Helen Grant, on her appointment as the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria.
Nigeria is the largest market in Africa with a population of over 200 million people. Helen’s new role builds on the UK’s existing strong relationship with Nigeria, seeking to maximise bilateral trade between the two countries.
Among the many opportunities for British businesses in Nigeria is a huge new export market for agri-tech products and services. Kent’s outstanding farming and horticultural industries have enormous expertise and skills to offer Nigeria and Helen is determined to assist them to grow their export potential.
Helen commented, "We are entering a new and exciting age for British trade around the world and there are significant opportunities for increased trade and investment between the UK and Nigeria. I am particularly excited about the possibilities on offer for UK agriculture companies and I will be developing plans to support our farmers in Kent with exporting their skills and expertise to Nigeria over the coming months.’
