Palace Wood Infrastructure Survey

Overdevelopment is the biggest issue facing West Maidstone and I know how many of you
are concerned about the loss of our precious green spaces and the impact this has on our
local infrastructure such as school places, roads, and doctors. This is why I have opposed
every planning application in the Hermitage Lane area since being elected.

I want to see a planning system that delivers infrastructure first, forces developers to invest
more into the community, empowers residents, allows consideration for the overall impact
on an area (like Hermitage Lane), and makes actual capacity changes to cater for more cars
on the road. Changes like this can only be delivered by parliament.

Nevertheless, I have recently been made aware that some money – via developers in the
form of Section 106 contributions and Community Infrastructure Levy – is available for
Palace Wood ward.

In order to best direct this funding, I would be very grateful if you could let me know your
views on what you would like to see in our community.

I am interested in all your ideas. To help, examples of infrastructure projects I am currently
working on and have been asked to look into including better street lighting in Giddyhorn Lane,
more 3G football pitches locally, new play equipment in our parks, crossing islands on
London Road, and Yellow Lines in the Conway Road and Ash Grove area.

It is my job to represent and fight for the things you want and need. Once I have received
your suggestions, I will go ahead with the next steps to get this funding spent in
the best way possible.

Please share this link with people you know who may be interested.
